Another day with family. Two in a row – so good. Another hockey game. Autumn is definitely here..the days have been beautiful with clear blue skies and warm sunshine but it’s cold when the sun goes down!

Interesting to see that the river level is dropping but still not down to its usual. These two photos show the difference. I wonder when the pier will be fully visible?

River in full flood.
After the flood – no pier
River with high water, small beach to foreground half submerged pier
Two weeks on – the pier can now be seen

In Auckland for the Google Summit. An interesting keynote from Jaime Casap who is the Education Evangelist for Google – what a great title!

Wandered up One Tree Hill twice today once to see the sunrise and then for the sunset! So nice to get outside and up high after a day cooped up indoors!

I spent today with some inspiring teachers today in a beautiful school in the heart of the Waikato. They are embarking on a journey with enthusiasm and passion. So lucky to be a part of it. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo as I dashed straight up to Auckland afterwards and we were so busy during the day.

Instead I’ll share this collage of my boys because I love how they are all smiling and I miss them when I’m away!

The sun returns! Work morning, play afternoon. Took the boys to Wairongomai and Butler’s Incline! It is a beautiful walk through the bush and amazing to think that back in the 1800s all the trees were chopped down to make way for goldmining. This report from a newspaper of the time shows how important the industrial age was by comparison to ecology! And this is Gus at the top of Butler’s Incline!
